1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

After Paul finishes talking about the resurrection that will take place when Christ comes back, and how our bodies will be changed "in the twinkling of an eye," he concludes the section with this verse. What a motivation it should be for us to continue moving along, one step at a time. I must confess how easily in the course of my daily circumstances I forget this principal and my eyes lose focus on what lies ahead. It is so easy for me to become burdened by petty things that won't matter in the long run and to set aside the work that the Lord has called me to do, saving it "for another day," only to become engrossed in a selfish desire of mine. I do pray that He would keep me focused on what lies ahead, that I wouldn't lose sight in the midst of my daily activities.
